The concept of experimental thinking is a valuable fragment of modern education in the field of design, technology and culture. There has been an emerging shift in higher education to create unique fusions of disciplines responding to rising questions about the future. They offer a comprehensive approach to predicting social, economic and environmental change. We can see such efforts at leading Universities and their emerging courses on Future Studies. In our approach, we wish to highlight the importance of this interdisciplinary, sustainable and futuristic approach.

We kick off by stripping the city bare, exposing the brutal logic of infrastructure and the power dynamics of urban planning. Then, we accelerate through a high-octane history of architecture—from the raw edge of Modernism to the speculative future of urbanism, where the boundaries between interior design, landscape, and typology completely dissolve. The climax? Pure creative anarchy. You’ll build adaptive urban units and public space scenographies using LEGO, cardboard, and raw materials. No boring renders—just tactile, visionary compositions. Architecture isn’t the goal; it’s the manifesto. Define the visual code of tomorrow.
SPACE-FORMING + FORM-GIVING
by futuresearch.studio is not a tutorial; it’s a spatial uprising - we are hacking the DNA of how we live, work, and breathe. This workshop deconstructs the invisible forces shaping our behavior. From the macro-scale of urban compositions and infrastructure to the intimate grit of interior layouts, we challenge the friction between traditional typologies and radical new realities like co-living and co-working. Get hands-on with the evolution of nature-integrated design, mastering technical principles through the lens of emerging tech. Whether it’s a deep-dive one-day sprint or a series of tactical sessions with individual consults for real-world projects, we bridge the gap between abstract theory and construction. ABOUT THE FUTURE
A full-day creative workshop (in 4 blocks) or a workshop series supporting imagination and abstract thinking. Inspired by the 1966 BBC interview where children imagine the year 2000). Together we will share and connect the experiences of children's creative workshop lecturers with architects and urban planners (about how a city works), biodesigners (about the concept of nature), technology experts (about the use of AI). Social scientists will explain the possibilities of participation of the young generation in solving problems and creating their neighborhoods and cities. Me and my immediate surroundings, neighborhood, city, landscape, country, world and planet.
INTERSECTION MEDITERRANEA
The Mediterranean Sea—once a lifeline for trade and shared civilizations—now sits at a turning point. Rapid warming is stressing fragile ecosystems; emerging Arctic shipping routes may redraw global commerce; and undocumented crossings have turned the sea into a deadly border. How will these forces reshape the Mediterranean Sea? In an experimental workshop, three architects lead three consecutive disruptive processes in three hours. Engaging in the practice of futurology, participants will be able to utilize architecture as a tool for analyzing complex societal challenges. They will prototype the Mediterranean Sea as: a vessel, a model, a ridge, a fixed wall, etc. —testing how the design can either enable exploitation and divide or nurture solidarity, regeneration, and rescue.
Presentation (screen or canvas): an introduction to the life of the Mediterranean sea - we will share a kaleidoscopic collection of footage, showcasing the past and current challenges of the vast region. 3 sessions, by 3 lecturers (talisman holders).
